ToucanEd provided a variety of developmental services including writing, evaluation, editing, layout, design, original artwork, and manufacturing of Breast Cancer Screening and Cervical Cancer Prevention Education Program Curriculum—Educator’s Guide (BCCS). As a program of the Cancer Detection Section of the California Department of Public Health’s Chronic Disease and Injury Control Division, the overall objective is to save lives by preventing and reducing the devastating effects of cancer for all Californians through early detection, diagnosis, and treatment, with special emphasis on the underserved.
The BCCS curriculum materials, including large table-top flip charts, were developed to be appropriate for small group settings (five to fifteen participants), as well as for one-on-one educational opportunities.
