Department Operations Center (DOC):
Basic Training for California Health Departments online course

Basic DOC Training

Health departments play an important role in responding to many emergencies. It is essential for health department staff to be able to work within the Incident Command System (ICS) for managing and responding to all-hazards emergencies. This online course was prepared for health department staff who may be assigned to the department operations center (DOC) during an emergency response.

The course was developed by the County of San Mateo Health System’s Emergency Preparedness Unit, with funding from the California Department of Public Health and input from public health professionals across California. Participants receive a certificate of completion when they complete the modules and pass the final exam.
